FOSTERING

  • Our Foster Homes are the lifeblood of our organization. They are the ones who care for our foster pets in their own homes until they are adopted. Being a Foster Home is very challenging, yet very rewarding. Foster homes are responsible for choosing (or having their foster home coordinator choose) pets to foster, transporting them to and from vet appointments, ensuring that they are well-socialized and trained, and feeding and grooming while pets are in their care. For dog foster homes, they are also responsible for showing their pet regularly, speaking with prospective adopters, and approving the new home. Because of the level of time and commitment required, all prospective foster homes go through an interview and usually a home inspection prior to taking in their first pet.
