Our Mission

The goal of Partners for Pets is to eliminate euthanasia of healthy, adoptable pets; promote sterilization (spay/neuter); work collaboratively with local shelters in a foster/adoption program; and educate the community about the importance of sterilization, permanent identification, and making a lifetime commitment.

Our Story

In 1996 the organization started as nothing more than a few people’s passion for helping animals. 27 years and 1000s of cat later, Partners for Pets is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of homeless cats in Spokane County.

We are a group of animal lovers dedicated to finding the purrfect fit for every cat and kitten in our care. We believe in making a lifetime commitment, not only by trying to find our rescues forever homes, but also by taking our rescues back (even years later) if for any reason that adopted home does not work out.

Charlotte & Lucky, adopted 2023

AS a 100% volunteer-run organization, we can’t do what we do without the dozens of people who pour their time and talents into Partner’s for Pets mission. Every cat or kitten at P4P starts in a home with one of our Fosters who care and socialize them. When ready for adoption, cats move into the care of our Adoption Center and Petsmart Volunteers. All made possible by our amazing volunteers.
